I hope you've had a healthy and enjoyable week. Thank you to all those who attended Reuvi's Bar Mitzvah last Shabbat, and for all the Mazal Tov messages you sent our way if you couldn't attend. It was a beautiful Simcha enhanced by your presence and well wishes. Reuvi did us all really proud! To have my parents here has been very special and we've been spending as much time as we can together, before their return to London next week. Thankfully, the forecasted thunderstorms and rain for the week never really materialised, which allowed us to spend lots of time outdoors enjoying the pleasant autumn weather. Pictured above, my parents enjoying a glorious sunset on Dromana Beach. Below, with both sets of grandparents after a celebratory Bar Mitzvah dinner). "The love of a family is life's greatest blessing" (- Eva Burrows AC). Rivki & I and our children have truly experienced that this week. The importance of family is alluded to in this week's Parsha, Emor, where we're taught how the Kohen (in the context of becoming ritually impure) could do things to help their close relatives, that they couldn't to do for anyone else. There's nothing like family, we do anything for family, and we should never take our loved ones for granted. Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom and a healthy week ahead filled with family love.
Rabbi Shmuel

This week's PARSHA is Emor (Leviticus 21:1–24:23) The eighth section of the Book of Leviticus begins as G d directs Moses to tell (Emor, in Hebrew) the elder priests to educate the younger priests regarding the laws of the priesthood. G‑d then teaches Moses these laws, after which He teaches him the laws regarding the cycle of festivals in the Jewish year.” Click here to learn more about the Parsha. © Copyright, all rights reserved, Chabad.org. |
