I hope you've had a healthy and meaningful week. This week, through sadness and then through joy, we expressed gratitude, pride, passion and love for Israel, her people and the heroes who were tragically killed protecting both. The passion and pride, concern and love and deep spiritual, emotional and physical connection we have with Eretz Yisrael is not just expressed this week, but throughout the year. And we continue to hope and pray, that the almighty protects Israel and her defenders and blesses all of Am Yisrael with safety, peace and tranquility.
The story of our people continues to be written, as this Shabbat we look forward to celebrating our son Reuvi's Bar Mitzvah! May he, along with all our children, continue to give us a lot of naches and joy, in good health.
I extend a warm Shalom Aleichem to my dear parents, who have come from London to celebrate with us! Wishing you a Shabbat Shalom, a healthy week ahead. Am Yisrael Chai!
Rabbi Shmuel

This week's PARSHA is Kedoshim (Leviticus 19:1–20:27) The Parshah of Kedoshim begins with the statement: “You shall be holy, for I, the L‑rd your G‑d, am holy.” This is followed by dozens of mitzvot (divine commandments) through which the Jew sanctifies him- or herself and relates to the holiness of G‑d. These include: the prohibition against idolatry, the mitzvah of charity, the principle of equality before the law, Shabbat, sexual morality, honesty in business, honor and awe of one’s parents, and the sacredness of life. Also in Kedoshim is the dictum which the great sage Rabbi Akiva called a cardinal principle of Torah, and of which Hillel said, “This is the entire Torah, the rest is commentary”—“Love your fellow as yourself.” Click here to learn more about the Parsha.
