Hope you've had a good week! If we were to be be in Shule tomorrow we would be wishing each other Chazak Chazak V'nitchazek! as we conclude the 4th book of the Torah. Sadly we won't be in Shule, but we can and must continue to wish ourselves and each other strength! Strength to navigate this difficult period, strength to remain healthy in body, mind and soul and strength to remain positive and productive.
This week besides for being in touch with many of you over the phone, facetime or Zoom, I also completed a 15 hour Mental Health First Aid Course, online and with a Instructor via Zoom. Now more than ever I find myself listening to and supporting others. I'm sure this is the case for many of you as well. I found the course extremely valuable and helpful. If you're interested in becoming a mental health first aider, I encourage you to visit www.mhfa.com.au to learn more.
As always, I am available anytime to chat and offer support, my number is 0433 676 300. Ronny can also be reached on 0413 863 263.
We are also finalising details in our partnership with CCare and Meals on Wheels to assist anyone in our community who can benefit from their services. More details to follow. While is it important that we're there for others, our self care comes first. I encourage you to make time during the day to go for a walk (the weather has been glorious!), meditate, exercise of any sort, get your hands dirty in the garden, run a bath - or whatever it is that helps you feel present and calm.
I've challenged myself to run 100km during the month of August and I'll be joined by a few of my colleagues. We've signed up to support the Fred Hollows Foundation. You're welcome to support our team in this endeavor and even join this challenge yourself! www.fredsbigrun.org/fundraisers/RunningRabbis.
Self care also applies to the Soul! I invite you to join us this evening for our Pre Shabbat Sing along, for our online evening services during the week and my Tues evening Shiur on dreams. Details below. Wishing you and yours a Shabbat Shalom - Chazak Chazak V'nitchazek! (I took the above photo during our recent family holiday - How serene!) |
